Quick Delicious Breakfast Recipe
1/2 cup cooked oats (long-cooking irish oats are best, not the instant oats)
1/2 cup fat free cottage cheese
1 scoop strawberry flavored egg white protein powder (24g protein)
1 cup strawberries
1 tablespoon almond butter
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon stevia (no calorie natural sweetener)
1/4 cup fat free milk
Heat oats first, mix everything in a bowl until almond butter is melted, pour in milk, stir again and enjoy! Whey might work but egg protein makes it taste smoother and richer. Also the whole grain, long cooking oats will give you a sustained, slow energy burn longer. The quick oats digest too fast and you might get that after meal tired slump an hour later. Go for the whole grain, long cooking oats. I make a bunch on Sunday to last throughout the week, and re-heat in microwave.
